Dear IBP Colleagues,

Today is the International Day of Zero Tolerance for female genital mutilation (FGM), an opportunity for all stakeholders to celebrate achievements, advocate for abandonment of this harmful practice and raise awareness.

Please see some resources put together to highlight the importance of addressing this important human rights issue.

  1. Our feature story is about a Survivor, nurse, advocate: Catherine Meng’anyi, from Kenya, sharing how she’s working to end female genital mutilation in her lifetime

  1. We are pleased to share this advocacy video, supporting health workers (exemplified by nurses) as agents for change within clinical settings as well as in their communities and families: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9l5_S5tod6M

  1. We also have a motivational video for health workers to get involved. https://www.who.int/multi-media/details/health-workers-communicating-to-end-fgm-promotional-video

  1. Please see attached social media kit attached to amplify messages and resources; retweet @WHO and @HRPresearch.
