Please respond: UNFPA Global Gender and Innovation Mapping by 15 Oct 2021

Sylvia Wong

Dear IBP Friends,

UNFPA invites you to participate in a global Gender and Innovation Mappingopen through Friday, 15 October 2021.

Innovations that promote gender equality are happening around the world. Our aim is to better understand this landscape and determine the role of innovation in promoting gender equality and women and girls' empowerment. The innovations can be new or novel approaches, models, services, or products that not only solve pain points for women and girls, but those with women and girls leading the creation of their own solutions. We want to identify where and how these innovations are being developed, and draw lessons from these experiences.

We are keen to identify examples that are both mission-critical to UNFPA's mandate (e.g., addressing GBV and harmful practices, supporting sexual and reproductive health bodily autonomy and decision-making, etc.), and also those that are crucial (e.g., financial inclusion, digital literacy, the care economy, smart use of tech, etc.) for achieving SDG 5 (Gender Equality).

Your participation matters.

Please participate and share the SURVEY with your networks and partners (especially any implementing partners/counterparts, start-ups, social enterprises, female founders you might work with).  We anticipate the survey will take approximately 20-30 minutes to complete.

The SURVEY is open through Friday, 15 October 2021 (12:59 pm EST).

Your engagement will help highlight innovations around the world, the collaboration between innovators and the entities that support them, and the insights needed to enhance our gender programming and spark potential opportunities for partnerships. My hope is that the review will be a useful resource for us all, and feel free to reach out if you have questions and suggestions.

Thank you and best regards,
