MEASUREMENT THAT MATTERS: UNDERSTANDING QUALITY OF CARE FROM CLIENTS’ PERSPECTIVES
Despite the widely agreed importance of measuring quality of care (QoC), client perspectives are often missing from routine
monitoring and studies. The Evidence Project has developed a package of validated, evidence-based tools and training materials to support governments and implementing partners in measuring and monitoring QoC. Measuring QoC from clients' perspectives will help
programs celebrate successes, target areas for improvement, and ultimately improve uptake and continuation of voluntary contraceptive use.
The Evidence Project recently published a blog on the Knowledge Success website discussing the importance of measuring quality of care from the clients' perspectives and the tools that we developed.
The Evidence Project is made possible by the generous support of the American people through the United States Agency for International Development (USAID) under the terms of cooperative agreement no. AIDOAA-A-13-00087. The contents of this document are the
sole responsibility of the Evidence Project and Population Council and do not necessarily reflect the views of USAID or the United States Government.
The Evidence Project seeks to expand access to high-quality family planning/reproductive health services worldwide through implementation science, including the strategic
generation, translation, and use of new and existing evidence. The project is led by the Population Council.
