The new WHO Euro Roadmap for Nursing and Midwifery was developed to guide implementation of the WHO Global Strategic Directions for Nursing and Midwifery in our region. It lays out a 5-year blueprint for strengthening health and care in the WHO European Region by enabling the contribution of nurses and midwives themselves.  

The WHO GSDNM includes strategic directions in four key areas of development for the nursing and midwifery workforces: Education, Jobs, Leadership and Service Delivery.  The plan also includes an evaluation framework for data collection and monitoring progress over a five year period from 2021 to 2025.

National nursing and midwifery associations are critical stakeholders to be engaged in the measurement and monitoring process. The purpose of this webinar is to:

-        Raise awareness of the developmental goals for nursing and midwifery and how progress will be measured and monitored.

-        Identify National Health Workforce accounts and indicators as core elements to measure and monitor progress.

-        Present State of the Worlds Nursing Report and State of the Worlds Midwifery Report data for Europe as a benchmark for measuring progress

-        Present survey on how national nurses and midwives associations have been engaged in the  data collection, monitoring and dialog process

-        Reflect on the role of national nurses and midwifery associations in the implementation of the GSDNM.
