The Royal College of OBGYNs (UK) Centre for Women’s Global Health have partnered with the Open University (ethical approval no. HREC/3994/Hoggart) to conduct a global study into abortion care providers experiences of stigma. This study is part of the RCOG's “Making abortion safe” programme and is intended to generate evidence that we can use to develop resources and tools to help address abortion-related stigma and burnout.
If you are a clinically trained abortion and/or post-abortion care provider this is your opportunity to share your experiences and help us to develop resources and tools to address abortion-related stigma and burnout amongst healthcare providers. Participation should take no longer than 20 minutes and will be invaluable to this research. The survey has been EXTENDED and will close on 23rd July 2021.

Submit your Ideas for a Peer Assist hosted by the FP/RH Scale-up COP on August 10
Hi all, What issues are you or your project facing related to scale? We are soliciting challenges that could benefit from discussion and expertise within our Community of Practice via a Peer Assist for the August meeting of the Systematic Approaches for Scale-Up of FP/RH Best Practices COP. Peer assists are a participatory learning technique that involves a facilitated discussion whereby peers with relevant experience share their knowledge, often in the form of lessons learned or best practices, to brainstorm solutions. If you have a challenge you’d welcome a group of like-minded colleagues to chew on, please e-mail Sarah at sbrittingham@.... Even if you don’t have your challenge fully articulated, please reach out to let us know you are interested by July 13 - we can help. Peer assists can be particularly helpful if you are starting a new activity and would like to learn from others' experience, you've encountered a problem that others have solved, or you'd like to learn about new approaches another project has successfully implemented. Invitation: Training Workshop- Building Capacity to Improve Pharmaceutical and Medical (PMC) Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings
Nadia Olson
Dear
Colleagues,
We have a few more spots open for our Nairobi supply chain training and so, given that availability, I am sending this around to make sure everyone gets a chance to apply who is interested. The workshop is focused on folks already residing in Nairobi. If you're interested, please apply right away since these few remaining openings will likely fill up quickly. JSI Research & Training Institute, Inc. (JSI), with support from USAID BHA, is pleased to invite you to apply for a 5 day health commodity supply chain management workshop. The workshop targets mid-level country or regional staff working in fragile and humanitarian settings. Workshop objectives, locations and dates can be found in the attached invitation.
Training Workshop: Building Capacity to Improve Pharmaceutical and Medical (PMC) Management in Humanitarian and Disaster Settings | Application Location: Nairobi, Kenya Date: August 23-27, 2021
Due to COVID restrictions, JSI policies, and guidance from USAID BHA, this workshop will be limited to individuals already in Nairobi. We cannot facilitate any international travel to attend the training. If you reside in Nairobi or happen to already be in Nairobi and all your country entrance requirements can be managed without any support from our project, you are welcome to join. Otherwise, we, unfortunately, cannot support your participation at this juncture. Application for interested persons is open at the following LINK. Please note that space is limited and JSI will give priority to BHA implementing partners and that this workshop may be postponed or cancelled based on local (Kenya) COVID or other related travel restrictions, if any, at the time of the training.
Please reach out to (daniel_delacy@...) with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you!
Regards, Nadia Olson --

CALL FOR LESSONS LEARNED FROM IMPLEMENTING WHO GUIDELINES ON ABORTION CARE
IBP Network, based at the World Health Organization (WHO) headquarters, invites you to share your local Implementation Story on how you have used and adapted WHO guidelines and tools related to CAC. Selected applicants will be supported by the IBP Network in capturing and conveying their lessons learnt, challenges faced and recommendations, using a storytelling format. They will also receive a stipend to support their documentation process.
Deadline: 30 June.

WHO guidelines and tools that address sexual and reproductive health and rights (SRHR) are widely disseminated amongst high level policy stakeholders. There is, however, limited documentation on how these guidelines and tools are practically implemented and adapted on the ground, and on the impact that such implementation can have for individuals and communities.
Efficient and innovative documentation contributes to the wider evidence base around successful implementation and scale-up of evidence-based interventions in SRHR, while also encouraging learning from and sharing of real-life experiences of what works and what does not work in local contexts.
In an effort to encourage documentation and sharing of concrete use of WHO guidelines and tools in local settings, the IBP Network calls for experiences on how WHO guidelines and tools related to comprehensive abortion care (CAC) have been implemented by stakeholders at country level.
Selected applicants will be supported by the IBP Network in capturing and conveying their lessons learnt, challenges faced and recommendations, using a storytelling format. They will also receive a stipend of $2400 to support their documentation process.
Has your organization implemented any WHO guidelines or tools related to CAC? Take this opportunity to receive support documenting your work and impact in innovative ways - as well as to share your experiences with other SRHR stakeholders around the world!
For further details, see the attached call.
This project is our second initiative to collect implementation stories in the space of SRHR. The first round of IBP Implementation Stories, capturing use of FP/RH guidelines and High Impact Practices, generated 15 fantastic story briefs. Visit the IBP Platform to read all 15 winning stories.

Subject: Launch of Digital Adaptation Kit for Family Planning: Operational requirements for implementing WHO recommendations in digital systems
Dear colleagues,
The new Digital Adaptation Kit (DAK) for Family Planning supports countries implementing WHO contraception and family planning recommendations in their digital systems.
- Read the web story: Demystifying digital health to improve family planning
- Access the DAK for Family Planning
- Share with your networks using the social media kit attached – or retweet @HRPresaerch
Digital Adaptation Kits, known as DAKs, are a critical layer in WHO’s SMART Guidelines approach to making global guidance more effective across all areas of health and wellbeing.
As countries increasingly invest in digital technologies for health system strengthening, and COVID-19 further accelerates the rise of digital health, DAKs ensure that people – both implementers and users – remain at the heart of the digital journey.
The DAK for Family Planning was developed by WHO, HRP, UNFPA, JSI, and PATH. At WHO, it was jointly led by the Department of Sexual and Reproductive Health and Research (SRH), including the United Nations Special Programme HRP, and the Department of Digital Health and Innovation (DHI).
This DAK uses the algorithms developed from the medical eligibility for contraceptive methods and the WHO MEC app. It also addresses the broader spectrum of quality of care, including screening, testing and counselling for choosing and managing contraceptive methods, care and support for survivors of intimate partner and sexual violence, and considerations for adolescent well-being and promoting self-care interventions to ensure quality of care remains at the heart of the digital journey.
SMART Guidelines from WHO: The DAK for antenatal care (ANC) launched earlier this year, and the approach is being expanded to other health domains. DAKs for HIV and STIs are forthcoming, and DAKs for immunizations, postnatal care (PNC), child health, and self-care interventions are in development. Learn more about the SMART Guideline approach here.
