Contraceptive-Induced Menstrual Changes (CIMC)
If you are a researcher, policymaker, implementer, provider, or advocate in the fields of menstrual health, family planning, or sexual and reproductive health you are invited to join the Contraceptive-Induced Menstrual Changes (CIMC) Community of Practice which will focus on: * Conducting and sharing research related to the issue of CIMCs, * Contributing to publications and resources around the topic of CIMCs, and * Increasing awareness and galvanizing support and action around CIMCs. Contraceptive-induced menstrual changes (CIMCs) affect contraceptive users' lives in both positive and negative ways. These include consequences such as dissatisfaction with and discontinuation of contraceptives, as well as opportunities, such as improved quality of life and potential treatment of menstrual disorders. Despite the important links between family planning (FP) and menstrual health (MH), neither field adequately addresses CIMCs, including in research, product development, policies, and programs globally.Created:114 Members, 3 Topics, Archive is visible to members only, Restricted, Last Post: -

Focus on Male Contraception
In celebration of World Contraception Day, the IBP Network hosted a partner convening to discuss the latest trends, research and implementation strategies around male contraception on September 26 th , 2022. Over the past few decades male engagement in family planning has operated from the perspective of pregnancy prevention being primarily a woman’s responsibility, with the male partner playing a secondary role in supporting women’s access to and uptake of contraception. However, reinforcing men’s supporting role may have inadvertently cemented women’s contraceptive burden and exacerbated gender inequitable roles. The World Health Organization invites all partners to initiate a renewed commitment towards male contraception that includes not only support as partners but also as advocates for male contraceptive methods and options. * Objectives of the Community: * To bring awareness to available male contraceptive options To enlighten participants on research efforts on male contraception To call for renewed focus on male contraception and discuss more partner engagement Graphic courtesy of: Dr. Brian Nguyen, Keck School of Medicine USCCreated:1,389 Members, 2 Topics, Archive is visible to members only, Restricted, Last Post: -

Global Fertility Care
Fertility care is an essential component of sexual and reproductive health. Over 48 million people are estimated to have infertility globally; however, its impact is felt disproportionately by women and individuals in settings within which having children implies higher socio-cultural, financial, and familial value. In recent years, there has been growing interest in research, advocacy, and policy discussions concerning infertility around the world. However, awareness related to infertility and fertility care remains low. Membership of this Global Fertility Community of Practice includes all those who are involved or are interested in fertility care or interventions aimed at resolving an infertility status. Our members include healthcare providers who are involved in service provision and scientific or clinical researchers investigating infertility and fertility care from a singular, or multi-interdisciplinary perspective. In addition, topics will be addressed that will engage our members who represent local, community-based or international non-governmental organizations, policy makers, as well as patient support groups. The purpose of the Global Fertility Community of Practice is: to enhance knowledge sharing that ultimately improves access and application of evidence-based practices addressing fertility care and infertility; to promote and disseminate relevant studies covering fertility care and infertility; to facilitate the exchange of ideas and experiences that could improve access to or provision of fertility care and infertility prevention, diagnosis and treatment; to facilitate engagement of stakeholders who can advocate for research, policy, and service provision on fertility care and infertility interventions; and to stimulate shared learning between members who bring expertise and experiences from diverse disciplinary backgrounds and geographical contexts.Created:1,023 Members, 0 Topics, Archive is visible to members only, Restricted -
